JoeDoe Recreates Dunkin Donuts' Sausage Pancake Bites

JoeDoe makes Dunkin' Donuts Sausage Pancake Balls! from Jena Steinbach on Vimeo.

There's hope for those who crave the intimate congress of sausage and pancake batter but were, like us, underwhelmed by Dunkin Donuts' benighted sausage pancake bites. It comes courtesy of Joe Doe proprietor Joe Dobias, a chef more closely associated with blogger-fueled rage than blogger-motivated succor. Yet Dobias fulfilled the request of the Young and Hungry to improve upon the Dunkin Donuts original, and, as seen in the video above, produced what is apparently a very delectable morsel.

It's constructed of house-made sausage and pancake batter, deep-fried, and injected with elderflower honey. Dobias may add them to the menu, and he should - we're hard-pressed to think of a food that better emulates his so-called Aggressive American cuisine than a deep-fried sausage-pancake bullet aimed squarely at New York's digestive tract.
